The lyric tenor Michael Fries is a 36 year old vocalist originally from Long Island, NY. Michael currently resides in Des Moines, IA and performs for various organizations throughout the Des Moines area. Michael is an awarded vocalist who won both concerto competitions for his Operatic voice as well as winning the 2007 106.1 WBLI Island Idol competition for his pop vocals. Michael performed several roles at the Tri Cities Opera Company in Binghamton, NY. Michael possess degrees in Mathematics and Philosophy from C.W. Post Long Island University. Though his studies were in the aforementioned fields, Michael was very active in the Campus music program. He was a member of 3 choirs each year not including all his solo work. Michael studied for 10 years under the direction of the Voice Teacher, Tom Goodheart. As a vocalist at C.W. Post, Michael performed throughout the United states as well as throughout Europe. In Europe, Michael performed with the Long Island Sound Vocal Jazz Ensemble in the Montreux Jazz festival held in Montreux, Switzerland. Michael often can be found performing his celebrated rendition of the Star Spangled Banner, God Bless America and O Canada for various professional sports organizations spanning Major League Baseball and the NHL. Michael was also the featured solo vocalist from 2007-2009 at the Town of Oyster Bay Annual Christmas Concert at the Tilles Center for the Performing arts in Greenvale, NY. As a recording artist, Michael lent his voice to the Long Island music groups of Truth Table (cd “This is not a Casino” available on itunes) which was formerly known as Feriz Blue as well as the experimental band called Light.Sweet.Crude (cd titled “Wind Sketches available online) featuring the writing of Michael Ajudua. Michael is currently a volunteer cantor at St. Francis Catholic church in West Des Moines, IA. Michael also performs and records his own musical compositions and videos as the Pop Christian artist known as Love Champion. Information on Love Champion can be found at www.iamlovechampion.com.
